Terms of service
Last updated 2026-11-06
These are the terms you agree to by using Konvella. They are written to be read, not to be impenetrable — if something here is unclear, ask, and we will explain it in plain words.
1. Who you are dealing with
Konvella is operated by an independent developer. You can reach us at support@konvella.com.
Paid subscriptions are sold and billed by our payment provider, who acts as the merchant of record. Your payment, invoice and any tax on it are handled by them. Their name appears on your statement.
2. What Konvella is
Konvella is a messenger for Windows, Android and iPhone. It lets you send messages and files to people you have added as friends, make voice and video calls, share your screen, and talk in small groups.
It is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and to fix what breaks, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable, and we do not promise it will suit any particular purpose of yours.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- One person, one account. Do not share your password with anybody.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has access to it, change your password and turn on two-factor authentication.
- Give a real email address. It is the only way we can help you recover an account you are locked out of.
4. What you may not do
Do not use Konvella to:
- harass, threaten, stalk or abuse anyone;
- share material that sexualises children, incites violence, or is otherwise illegal where you or the recipient are;
- send unsolicited bulk messages, scams, phishing or malware;
- impersonate another person or organisation — including Konvella or its staff;
- create extra accounts to collect invite trials again, or to get around a limit or a ban;
- break into, overload or interfere with the service or anybody else's account;
- resell or redistribute access to the service.
We may remove content and limit or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we do, we tell the person what happened and why, and they can appeal it — see section 8.
5. Your content
What you write and send stays yours. We do not claim ownership of it and we do not sell it.
To run the service we have to store and transmit it — a message has to be kept until the person you sent it to reads it. That is the only permission you give us over it, and it lasts only as long as we are storing it for you.
Messages and files are encrypted where they are stored. They are not end-to-end encrypted: our servers can read them, which is what makes moderation of reported content possible. If you need a service where the operator cannot read your messages under any circumstances, Konvella is not that service, and we would rather tell you plainly than let you assume otherwise. How we handle what we hold is set out in the privacy policy.
6. Subscriptions
Konvella is free to use. Basic and Pro are optional paid plans that raise certain limits and add features.
- All paid plans are monthly. There is no yearly, weekly or lifetime option.
- A subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel it.
- You can cancel at any time, in one step, from Settings in the app. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not take anything away immediately.
- When you cancel, you keep everything your plan includes until the exact moment the month you paid for ends. After that the account returns to the free plan.
- Prices are shown before you pay. If we change a price, it applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you beforehand.
- There are no hidden fees. Paddle, which sells the subscription as merchant of record, shows the full amount — including any VAT or sales tax that applies where you live — before you confirm, and that is all you are charged.
- Invite trials. Someone who joins through a member's invite link gets 7 days of Pro free, with no card and no subscription behind it; it ends by itself. It is meant for new people: one per person, device and network, and not for a second account of the person who sent the invite. We may withhold it where it looks like that is what is happening.
Refunds are covered in the refund policy.
7. What happens to your files if you stop paying
Nothing you have already sent is deleted because a subscription ended. A file you sent while on Pro stays in the conversation. What changes is what you can do next: the limits of the free plan apply again to new uploads, new groups and so on.
8. Moderation and appeals
People can report messages and accounts to us — an account can be reported from its profile, for its name, bio, pictures or behaviour. When they do, a person reviews the report and may remove the content, limit the account for a period, or disable it.
A few checks run automatically, without waiting for a report. A file found to contain malware is removed. The same message with a link sent to many people in a short time can be paused as likely spam. Where automatic checks on pictures are switched on, explicit pictures are removed and the account limited, as the privacy policy describes. Disabling an account is always a person's decision.
If your account is limited or disabled, you can appeal from the sign-in screen. A person reads every appeal and decides. If the decision goes against you, you are told why.
9. Official accounts and announcements
Accounts run by Konvella show an OFFICIAL badge beside their name, and names that suggest Konvella or its staff are reserved for them. Konvella will never ask for your password, your two-factor codes or your payment details — not in a message, not on a call and not by email. Anyone who does is not us; please report them.
We may publish announcements about the service — new features, changes to these terms, planned maintenance — which appear in What's New in the app. They are not advertising for anyone else.
10. Keeping the service running
To fix a serious fault or to stop an attack, we may switch the service off for everyone for a while. When we do, the apps say so plainly, and the service comes back as soon as it is safe. Your account, messages and files are not affected, and nobody is signed out. We will keep any such pause as short as we can.
If the service is unavailable for more than 24 hours in a row while you have a paid plan, write to us and we will add the lost time to your subscription.
11. Ending the arrangement
You can stop using Konvella whenever you like. Deleting your account removes your profile and your messages from our systems.
We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks section 4. Where we do that and a paid subscription is running, we refund the unused part of the month unless the account was closed for fraud or for abuse of another person.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — arising from your use of Konvella. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you — anything affecting your rights, your money or your data — we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Konvella after that means you accept the new terms.
14. Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of Kosovo, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
