Two ways in. Both give you a real app icon, full screen, with notifications that arrive when it is closed.

Easiest

Install from Chrome

Open Konvella and tap Install when it offers. One tap, no warnings, and it updates itself.

A file you can keep

The same app as an Android package, if you would rather install it from a file or pass it to somebody.

Android 6.0 and newer

Installing an app from outside the Play Store means Android asks permission first. That is normal, and it is asking about the browser, not about us.
Tap Settings on the warning, turn on Allow from this source, then go back and tap Install.
You will see this once. Installing from Chrome above skips it entirely, which is why it is listed first.

Either way, the app keeps itself current. Konvella is the same app you use in a browser, so new features arrive the moment they are released — nothing to download.
The downloaded package is only a thin wrapper around that, so a new .apk is rarely needed. We will say here when one is.

Works: messages, voice and video calls, files and pictures, groups, all eleven themes, and notifications when the app is closed.
Does not work: screen sharing. No mobile browser can capture a screen, so that stays a desktop feature on Android the same as on iPhone.
Calls reach you with the app closed. A notification arrives and opening it puts you into the call. It will not take over your screen the way a phone call does — a web app is not allowed to do that — and a call you miss says so afterwards.

Sign in with the same username and password. Every conversation is there, on both devices at once, with nothing to move across.
